Martin Weinhold’s “WorkSpace Canada 2024” project began with a portrait of a truck driver in a suburb of Toronto on 17 April 2006. This developed into a photographic documentation on the subject of ‘people and work’, a portrait of Canada from the east to the west coast, from the US border to the Canadian Arctic territories. During the event at Meinblau project space on Friday 22nd March 2024, Weinhold will present the stages of his photographic journeys as a work in progress and show selected silver gelatine prints of the photographic works.
Martin Weinhold grew up in East-Berlin and studied Communication in Social and Economic Contexts at the University of the Arts in Berlin. He is a freelance photographer, author and instructor for visual media based in Berlin and Toronto. In 2022 he recieved an “Honorary Award” of the German-Canadian Society for his WorkSpace Canada project.
