In a converted van Emanuel Geisser and Kama Sokolnicka undertook an artistic research trip across Europe. Their expedition is an investigation of being on the road, a probing of psycho-geographical truths and a surveying of the continent by artistic means.

As the Trans-Europ-Express, the living and working space on four wheels became one with the surroundings, the journey a performance, the van a mobile point in a drawing of straight and winding lines.

The exhibition “Incontro Trasversale” in the Meinblau project space shows the individually created works of Kama Sokolnicka and Emanuel Geisser, which reflect the concept of their project from different but related perspectives. These are field recordings of all kinds, which now resonate and unite in the exhibition to form a multi-faceted overall picture.

The exhibition ends on 20 July with a live set by SPECTRO VERDU, a sound project by Emanuel Geisser and Daniel Adams.

Emanuel Geisser studied at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art Visuel in Geneva and at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg, while Kama Sokolnicka studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Both have participated in various international exhibitions, and their joint work was shown a.o. at the Artistic Scene of New Horizons Film Festival / BWA SiC in Wrocław in 2022. www.emanuelgeisser.com
