How to take space and then what to do with it? The group exhibition Domus Square Dance shows audio works, films, photos, drawings, installations and sculptures on the theme of ‘house’. The exhibition opens with a performance by Elisabeth Rosenthal. Her work focuses on the desires that motivate house-building projects. Some artists, in turn, counteract these longings by staging dangers that lurk precisely where people think they are at home. Other works transcend the space of the classically domestic or explore – architecturally inspired – how the world outside could be made cosy. Boundaries between inside and outside, intimacy and publicity become a theme. Speaking of public space: who does it actually belong to? If everyone, then I can take a piece of it too, can’t I?
